10 Reasons to Put a Disney Cruise on Your Bucket List
Have you been thinking about taking a cruise but are also dreaming of the magic of Disney? Your next vacay needs to be on a Disney Cruise. I cannot speak highly enough about how amazing these vacations are! I’ve compiled my top 10 favorite things about them and have listed them below for you. So, wait no longer, keep reading!
1. Disney Magic
It’s Disney at Sea! Take away the rides and you have all of the fabulous decor and imagination. Whether you are doing a special sailing where it might snow, or a sailing where tinker bell will soar over the ship - the Disney magic is throughout the boat.
2. Character Interactions
The characters included throughout each ship is spectacular. Certain ships sailing right now even include Fab Five, Marvel, and even Star Wars.
3. Kids club!
My kids love this feature. At the time I’m writing this, I have a four and six-year-old. We’ve been on Disney cruises for the past two years. So, we actually had one in the nursery the first year, and last year both were in the kids club. The kids club their top thing to do when they are on the Disney boat! I’ll tell you, they never get bored. There are characters that come in and play with them and there are games each day. They even have video games for the kids to play! The staff interacts with them so much that it is super fun for them. We have even gotten off the boat and left our kids in the kids club because they were having so much more fun there. They will even feed them if they want to stay in!
4. Character Dining
The character dining is one of our most favorite connections to partake in. There are three themed restaurants on the Disney boat and each of them are styled differently to fit its specific character interaction. There are so many things going on in the dinner that you will never be bored! There are also separate character breakfasts that you can sign up for to have another interaction choice. One of our favorite is the animators palate- this is where we get to draw our own characters and see them come alive in a show at the end of dinner!
5. Staterooms
There truly isn’t one bad stateroom on the boat. We normally get the suite with the concierge lounge. This is an experience all in itself! The staterooms have amazing Disney shows playing on the TVs and pictures of all things Disney on the walls. We normally get the suite that we do because we like the room and the concierge. The concierge on a Disney boat is definitely worth it! Plus, the concierge lounge is where we can go grab drinks, snack, and get our every need met. We even have evening cocktails in there!
6. Shows and Entertainment
From their broadway production to comedy shows to the silent Dj parties, there is never a lack of entertainment. They even have a full cinema on the boat!
7. Adults Only
What are you supposed to do while your kids are enjoying the kids club? Well, you make your way to the pub or try a wine and rum tasting! Grab some popcorn and head to go see a movie! We are also in love with the adult-only dining at Palo! Their adult-only comedy show is a must as well! And don’t forget this is a cruise ship, so you have their fabulous spa and shopping all on board and waiting for you. We visit the spa at least twice!
8. Castaway Cay and Other Ports of Call
Disney has their own island and it is one of our favorite islands to stop at! From the slides and private adult beach to all of the fun in the sun and BBQ - if you think Disney does great parks, you will love their island!
When it comes to other ports, they recognize that they have to have more family friendly options for all guests. Their disembarkation and tours at other ports of call are seamless and flowing... and fun!
9. Food
Yes, I indulge so much on the Disney boat because included in your Disney sailing is all the yummy food! Pizza, Mickey Bars, Mickey waffles, the steak and wine and seafood for dinner. There is a kids meal choice at each dining spot. Our favorite adult meal is the osso buco in Palo!
10. Staff
Hands down that customer service cannot be beat by anyone who isn’t Disney. Take that and put it into the waitstaff that moves with you from restaurant to restaurant every night and you will understand a little of what it is like to sail with Disney. You fall into a great relationship with your cabin and dining crew. We love our concierge crew and have sailed with some of them multiple times! Everyone you interact with is going to make sure that your sailing is magical.
