The Best Holidays at Disney

The Best Holidays to Spend at Disney

Have you been thinking about taking a family vacation over the holidays but want to know what the best holidays to spend at Disney are? The answer - is all of them! Our personal favorites, hands down, are Halloween and Christmas.

If you go at the right time, you can go when they have Disney fall + Disney Christmas at the same time. That is an extra special trip. You can go to sleep with everything Halloween and wake up to Christmas!

October 31st is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland and Disney World. Nov 1st the parks shift to everything Christmas.

Not So Scary Halloween Party

This is where adults can get in on the costume fun! On a regular day, only kids are able to dress up but on Halloween all ages are allowed.

Be sure to have your candy bag ready! They hand out candy at different stops so you can trick-or-treat your way throughout Magic Kingdom. Everything is decked out in Vampire Mickey. There’s the Spooktacular Oogie Boogie at night which is an amazing light show.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

One of my personal favorite holidays to spend at Disney is Christmas. Not only does Disney decorate all of their parks for Christmas, but their parades are so magical and now they have even incorporated smells with the floats. So, as Santa and the Christmas tree floats by you smell evergreens and as the gingerbread float goes by you smell cookies. It’s seriously one of the coolest experiences and the kids go crazy over it.

At Christmas, there is even a special themed night in Magic Kingdom that’s Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which has special parades and floats and even includes “snow.” Being a Houston, Texas native there’s nothing better than snow and Disney!

If you are worried that spending the holidays at Disney will not live up to the hype, I can tell you from many years of experience that it IS worth it.

In case the talk about gingerbread cookies made you hungry, here are our favorite places to eat at in Disney World:
